First of all I am very sorry if I post this in the wrong forum but I have recently got my hands onto a new bird because an old family friends birds had babies. He tried selling the birds to people and no one wanted them so I took one, these babies were not hand fed and were in a large aviary, I did think these guys might have been Indian Ringnecks but I think they might be African Ringnecks now.
Our family friend has discussed selling these babies to Magnolia Bird Farm in Cerritos California, but he is also deciding on keeping them because his aviary is really big and can house those birds. This man has had birds for 40 years and yes these babies even though were not hand fed are all healthy according to a vet and they do have perches and toys in the aviary. Our family friend had given me one of the babies for $50, he did say i did not need to pay but I decided to anyways because I know he needed the money.
So does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this new baby bird? He is about 5-6 months, has his wings clipped, and very very skittish. How should I go about taming him? Ive tamed babies before but my conures and cockatiel were all hand fed. I still have not decided a name for this baby boy either but he is a very pretty bird
